Cancer is one of the second largest dreaded diseases in the world. It refers to all tumors caused by the abnormal growth of body cells. It is derived from the Latin word “Carcinoma” which means crab.
Cancer can occur at any age group, irrespective of sex of the person affected. In men cancer is found in the lungs, intestines and prostrate glands. In women it mostly occurs in the gall bladder, breast tissues, uterus and thyroid.
The most common symptoms of cancer are change in bladder or bowel habits, a sore that does not heal thickening or lump in the breast or elsewhere, unusual discharge or bleeding, difficulty in swallowing or indigestion and a persistent nagging cough or hoarseness. Other symptoms may include a change in skin color, unexpected loss of weight and changes in menstrual cycle, especially bleeding between periods.
The main cause of cancer is not known. However certain carcinogenous substances increase probability of getting the disease. Consumption of tobacco, betel leaf and slaked lime are linked with the cancer of mouth, tongue, lips and throat. Excessive alcohol consumption may cause stomach and liver cancers. Overexposure to industrial pollutants such as tar, nickel, asbestos, soot and high doses of X-rays can lead to skin cancers or leukemia. Meat may also lead to cancer as during digestion, it exhibits a carcinogenic by product, ammonia.
Treatment of Cancer: The treatment of cancer should first commence with making all the necessary changes in diet and elimination of all carcinogenic substances and industrial pollutants.
Diet plays a very important role in the prevention and development of cancer. The use of natural foods contributes a lot to the treatment and prevention of cancer.
The patient should first start by cleansing the system thoroughly, by relieving constipation and by making all organs of elimination such as the liver, lungs, bowels, skin and kidneys active. For cleansing the colon, enemas should be used. The patient should remain on fruits such as lemons, oranges, grapefruits, peaches, tomatoes, pineapples and pears for the first five days. Carrot juice can also be taken by the patient during this period.
After remaining on an exclusive diet of fruits thereafter, the patient may be given a nourishing alkaline based diet. This diet should consist of only natural foods with more emphasis on raw vegetables and fruits such as green leafy vegetables, cucumber, onion, garlic, asparagus, tomatoes, carrots and beets. Fiber should always be an essential part of our diet, which helps to prevent cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. In developed or western cultures, the intake of dietary fiber is low were diseases including gallbladder and coronary heart disease is more prevalent. Most sources of fiber are non – starch polysaccharides which are found in many fruits and vegetables. Fiber is classified into two categories: Soluble (oat, bran, apples, pears, broccoli, peaches, pears, peas/beans, rye, psyllium, etc.), and insoluble (wheat bran, popcorn, brown rice, prunes, cabbage, seeds, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, celery, and tomatoes). Soluble fibers performs is seen in the small intestines, slow down the digestion of carbohydrates (sugars), which results in better glucose (When blood glucose level falls to low hypoglycemia occurs. Symptoms that may develop: nervousness, cool skin, headaches, confusion, convulsions or coma). Soluble fibers effective in reducing blood cholesterol. A high – fiber diet may help patients that have diabetes, reduce their dependency on insulin (especially for patients that have type two diabetes), and delaying the progression or reducing diverticulosis, which is related to colon polps and colon cancer. Further studies have shown that insoluble fibers, retains water in the colon, resulting in softer stool and effectively treating constipation. Most laxatives used to treat constipation are concentrated sources of fiber.
In 1989, According to Council of Scientific Affairs of American Medical Association published study, recommended taking 25 – 30 grams of fiber per day or 15 grams per 1,000 calories. Most people consume 14 – 15 grams of a fiber per day. Children over the age of two years old should consume five grams of fiber per day. Eating fiber content food is beneficial either cooked or eaten raw. Excessive consumption of fiber may interfere with the absorption of vitamins and minerals. Also, may cause intestinal bloating, and abdominal cramps. Pectin consists of complex carbohydrates: concentrated in skins and / or cores of many fruit that is a soluble fiber. Food manufactures use pectin as a thickening agent, and stabilizer in candies, syrup, and frozen deserts. Supplemental sources of fiber include Metamucil, Konsyl (soluble) and package of FiberCon. Appears that fiber supplement capsules are better tolerated than tablets. Avoid those supplements that contain artificial sweeteners or other additives. Always take plenty of

Microsporidiosis – Causes, Symptoms and Treatment
Definition
Microsporidiosis is define as an illness that is due to infection with microscopic organisms called microsporidia.Microsporidia are small simple single-celled protozoan parasites that form spores widely found in nature that produce disease in both animals and humans. These parasites must exist within other cells and are grown in the liver, intestine, kidney, cornea, brain, nerves, and muscles. These spores moved to other cells or are eradicated in the stool or urine.
There are more than 1,200 species belonging to 143 genera have been known as parasites infecting a various number of vertebrate and invertebrate hosts. Species identified as causing disease in humans include the following such as encephalitozoon hellem , enterocytozoon bieneusi ,encephalitozoon intestinalis ,encephalitozoon cuniculi, pleistophora species ,trachipleistophora hominis ,trachipleistophora anthropophthera ,nosema connori ,nosema ocularum ,brachiola vesicularum ,vittaforma corneae, microsporidium ceylonensis ,microsporidium africanum & brachiola algerae .These organisms infect the lining of the small intestine and can result complex loose bowels and unable to absorb food. Some organisms can also cause eye, sinus, and kidney symptoms.
Causes
Scientific report shows that microsporidiosis may be water-borne
microscopic organism, that causes disease and may be transmitted from human to human. In most conditions the patients with HIV infection appear with complex immunodeficiency. Individuals who are immunocompetent are reported to develop self-limited lose bowles due to microsporidia.
Microsporidiosis is produced by small protozoan parasites called microsporidia, the most common of which is enterocytozoon bieneusi . A number of scientific reports shown that enterocytozoon bieneusi infections of the small intestine are an important result of chronic diarrhoea in people with AIDS.
The microsporidia spores are discharged from the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts of infected animals. The spores are then inhaled by people. In the bowels it is used to penetrate a cell. Once within the cell, the microsporidia develop and increase in large number cause chronic diarrhea, hepatitis, myositis, or sinusitis.
Symptoms
Infection with microsporidia can cause blood in the urine, kidney failure, bladder inflammation, and bowel perforation. Microsporidia can also moved in the hole body to produce inflammation in the brain, pancreas, gallbladder, sinuses, and ears.Lung symptoms are irregular breathing & cough .
Microsporidiosis is occurs with heavy watery diarrhoea In the condition of microsporidiosis persons body not able to absorbed nutrients & results weight loss. Some other symptoms can include such as cramping stomach pains, nausea, wind and irregular bowel movements.
There are some common symptoms of microsporidiosis are:
- Vomiting.
- Pain in abdominal.
- Weight loss .
- Appetite loss.
- Dehydration.
- Flatulence.
- Pain in stomach.
- Wind bowel movements .
- Irregular bowel movements.
Treatments
There is no proper treatment, however a drug called albendazole is an efficacious treatment for some kinds of microsporidiosis. But it appears less effective against enterocytozoon bieneusi.
To cure microsporidiosis there are some other treatments are available such as itraconazole, metronidazole, atovaquone, nitazanoxide and thalidomide. To ebb diarrhoea metronidazole has shown some success, but does not able remove the parasites themselves from the gut. In a number of conditions itraconazole has been shown to be efficacious against microsporidiosis impacting the eye.
